Some of you in North Wootton have begun to receive polling cards for the Neighbourhood Plan Referendum on the 14th of November. This post is intended to give you more information about this.
Basically, a neighbourhood plan enables communities to play a much stronger role in shaping the areas in which they live and work. Having a plan also enables the parish to claim back more money from any development that does take place in the area (Community Infrastructure Levy).
The referendum is a simple yes/no question asking whether parishoners want the plan to be put in place or not, and the result is based on a simple majority of votes.
