COVID-19 UPDATE: INFORMATION IN THIS ARTICLE IS CORRECT AS AT MONDAY 16TH NOVEMBER 2020
Sadly, with new restrictions placed upon England to help stop the spread of COVID-19, we have no choice but to temporarily close the Village Hall. This means planned events will no longer be able to go ahead.
Village Market, 21st November 2020 and 19th December 2020 – CANCELLED
Thank you to all those who supported the return of our monthly Village Market once restrictions were eased in the summer. Everyone followed the guidelines and made sure we operated in a safe manner. Unfortunately, the new restrictions in England which came in to effect on 5th November mean that we cannot hold the Village Market in November and because of the uncertainty surrounding how we exit this current lockdown we have, heavy-heartedly, had to take the decision to cancel both the November and December markets. Please keep an eye on the website, our social media, Contact Magazine, Your Local Paper, etc. for updates as to when the Village Market will return.
Christmas Fair, 5th December 2020 – CANCELLED
Planned for the 5th December, our annual Christmas Fair would have provided a festive craft market, food and drink, and more. We will be planning a Christmas Fair for 2021 – let’s hope for a bigger and better event then!
Christmas Tree Sale, 5th December 2020 – CANCELLED
Our annual fundraising sale of fresh cut Nordmann Fir Christmas Trees has also fallen foul of the current COVID-19 restrictions. Unfortunately we have had to cancel this event, but intend to hold the Christmas Tree sale once again in 2021.
The North Wootton Village Hall Management Committee will monitor the situation and updates on guidance from the government and just as throughout the first lockdown the Hall will remain closed until the government advice changes. The Committee will then decide when the Hall can safely reopen. We understand this news is disappointing and we apologise for any disappointment caused, but we’re sure that you understand that the health and safety of villagers, committee members, and visitors is paramount.
